Hi Everyone! I hope you all have some great plans for this weekend. Mine will be spent unpacking... again. In addition, I will also be purging my closet! YAY!!!! All of the good stuff I will be posting on my Poshmark closet. If you would like to buy anything, please notify me! All of the funds I earn from there will be directed towards my new couch or maybe some of the cool gadgets I mention below:

If you have ever met me, I'm a super nerd and I scream it from the mountain tops. With this status comes a love of the stars. I recently found this Planetarium from Sega Toys. I don't really like the chocolate color, but I like the idea of having the Milky Way on your bedroom ceiling while you fall asleep. Or this could be a good gift for a kid, I guess...

I think this shirt epitomizes everything I love in life. Sleep and Pizza. That is definitely going on the Christmas Wish List.

Did you know that sleeping on your front can age you prematurely, cause breathing problems, and cause skin problems? Neither did I! They even have pillows that are designed to help you sleep on your back now. And in addition to helping you sleep, why not throw in a great humidifier?

So, as most of you know, I'm a consultant, and that means I travel A LOT for work (remember how I left the country from 8 months?). That means I have to leave my sweet kitty behind. Well guess what? Someone out there in this crazy world has felt my pain and created the PetCube. It lets you check in on your pet from your smartphone, talk to them, and even play with them using a laser pointer! Who doesn't like laser pointers?

And lastly, I really miss fresh macaroons from the bakery. Well now I can make them at home with this DIY Macaroon Kit! This maybe more of Christmas Wish List idea.

Do you have anything you would add to this list?

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Tips for Solo Travelling

During my travels in Europe, I had to travel alone. And you know what? It was great! I learned a lot about myself and found out that it is okay to try new things. I even made a couple of friends along the way. Here are some tips I learned during my solo travels:

Go on Tours! This is a great way to learn a lot about an area and meet new people. Some tours, like Italy on a Budget, are focused on bringing groups of people together for fun social activities. I did a tour with them in Florence, and I highly recommend it!

Stay in Hostels. I know. Kind of cliche but true. You really do meet a lot of people there that you normally wouldn't meet and learn about places to eat that you normally wouldn't find.

Pub Crawls. Did you know that you can do these internationally? Well, maybe you did, but I didn't. I met a lot of people and learned a lot about other cultures through those people.

Meet ups. There is this service called MeetUp where you can meet a group of people with similar interests as you. It occurs internationally as well!

Reflect. Traveling alone is a great time to think about your life, your dreams, and heck, anything else you want to think about. You can write in journals, speak out loud (please don't do it in crowded places or people will think you are crazy), and there are even apps for it.

Don't forget to set alarms! You can only count on yourself and there won't be anyone else to wake you up or tell you when to leave for your next attraction.

Use websites with ratings to book places to stay. I used Booking.com and HostelWorld. Both are great websites with pretty accurate reviews!

Be friendly. You never know what a smile can you give ya.

External Chargers are a great investment. You never have to worry about your phone dying if you have one. You can find some cute ones or a here is a really durable one.

Accept what life gives ya! You never know what will happen if you are open and willing for new experiences. Because I was traveling alone, I got the wonderful opportunity to fly in the cockpit of my flight to Croatia. They needed someone to ride in the jump seat and asked me! It was a wonderful experience!

Readers, have you had any amazing experiences while traveling alone?

I am slowly getting used to living in America again. I went to a grocery store this week and honestly, I bought too much because there was tons of food everywhere! I think I'm going to have to shop at Trader Joe's for a while until I can get used to American food stores again.

I've also been on the hunt for a new planner. In the past, I have used Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Spade. While both have been great, neither have really been what I need.

I have looked at May Designs, but I'm not really sure about them. It honestly has too many choices and I'm a little overwhelmed. I have also looked at FiloFax. They have this really cute Daisy pattern right now. However, I feel that I should make my own sheets for it, and I don't have time for that right now.

Anthropologie has a lot of cute agendas right now. I can go with a really girly one called Rosy Outlook. It has lots of flowers and it super cute. Or I can go with a more trendy one called Wise Words. It has a very simplistic theme and it comes in MINT (aka one of my favorite colors). Lastly, if I wanted a REALLY simplistic one, I can choose Mon Cahier.

I have also been seriously stalking Emily Ley and her Simplified Calendar. They come in Weekly or Daily versions. All of the calendars I have used before have been Weekly, but I didn't like how I could never put the events of the day in order. For example, I would book a 3 PM Doctor's Appt, but then a week later I would have to write a Noon Lunch Meeting. So nothing would ever been in order. I've taken a look at her sample pages and honestly I think her daily planner will work! She even includes a section on every day to plan dinner, which is really great for me. I will keep you all posted on what I decide. Do you guys have any suggestions for agendas?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Edinburgh Food Tour

Edinburgh was the capital of Scotland for quite a while. It if full of culture, tradition, and a whole lot of good food. To get the best experience possible, my brother, sister-in-law, and I attended a walking food tour with Eat Walk Edinburgh!

We started off eating an appetizer of Salmon and Horseradish in
Bedlam (Hotel Du Vin & Bistro). It was once part of the infamous Bedlam. It was basically an asylum for those with mental illnesses. Many a crazy quote from the UK went along the lines of "You'll drive me to Bedlam!".

Then, we walked to the Grass Market. Pretty much self-explanatory, but it was where the animals that ate grass were sold and traded.

Next, came the Royal Mile. It is the street that stretches from old Edinburgh Castle to the Queen's Castle, which is where the Queen of England stay when she is in residence.

The Royal Mile is also where we heard the tale Deacon Brodie, who is an infamous thief. He would sell his goods to a customer, and then steal them back at night!

We also walked down an alleyway that included quotes from the Famous Writers of Scotland and then stopped at Makar's Rest for Gin and Venison appetizers. Oh we also had black pudding!

Of course in Scotland, you have to learn how to drink Whisky properly, and we leared at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

Of course, you have to have Haggis, Nips and Tatties as well. It is actually amazing. Don't judge it because of how it is made. it is delicious!

Then, we attended the French District and had some wine, cheese, at meat at Le Di Vin.

Finally, we ended the day with a view of the Edinburgh Castle at Ghillie Dhu and ate some great desserts!

If you have any questions about Edinburgh, please feel free to ask. Edinburgh is now one of my favorite cities in the world!
