Crazy Love: March 27, 2015

I have been trying really hard to think about how to explain what this quote means to me. The best I think I can do is to describe a very small synopsis of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty". Walter Mitty worked for TIME magazine and this quote is the motto of TIME in the movie. Walter dreamed of being anywhere but his mundane life. Unfortunately, this means he would be so lost in his daydreams that he would forget about the world that was going on around him. Then he finally gets an opportunity to live his dream and travel the world to find his favorite photographer. He learns much on the journey including how much he missed when living in his day dreams. And I think that is point of this quote. It isn't "Go Travel the World and Find Yourself", as it suggests at first glance. It is that you need to give life your all. To not live in a day dream and miss out on all of the opportunities this world has to offer. This can mean a multitude of things, such as striking up the courage to talk to someone you have feelings for, go for that promotion, or even not letting anything hold you back. That is the purpose of life.

Crazy Love March 20, 2015

link

For a long time, I had forgotten who I was. I had constantly molded myself to what everyone expected or to whatever would cause me to fit in. However, because no one ever got to know the real me, I never did fit in. Traveling for work has made me realize who I am again. I have had to be alone so often that I finally got back to doing the things I enjoyed, like photography, video games, and painting. And because I'm opening up more, I now have real friends again. Not just a lot of acquaintances like I had before.
I am extremely blessed to be returning to my normal because of my travel experiences. While I love this quote and how it relates to me, travel may not be how every one discovers this. Sometimes it can happen in the weirdest of ways. Just as long as remember who you are, nothing else matters.

How To Create A Happiness Jar

I have made a promise to myself to become a happier person. To put aside my tendencies to be jealous, spiteful, and extremely sad. To start thinking about the happiness in my life, I have started a happiness jar. For 365 days, I will write a note about something that made me happy each and every day. Whether it is large, small, silly or personal, I vow to write a note each and every day about something that made me happy that day. Then on New Year's Eve, I will sit and go through every note to remember the good times.

I believe this will help me have a more positive attitude and just be positive about life. It gives me a moment to reflect about my day and find the happiness, even in the worst of days.

Have a happy day!
